Learn how to win others for your sustainability project
EVENT DESCRIPTION
Do you want to start your own sustainability project? Or do you want to improve your current sustainability project? Do you want others to (financially) support your project? Or would you like to find more students to join? In this workshop, we will explore the basic psychological factors you need to consider when convincing others to support your sustainability project. You will learn how to communicate your ideas in a way that others easily understand them and want to support you, or to become part of your team. You will also get the chance to actively try out your newly acquired knowledge and apply it to your own sustainability project (idea).

PROGRAMME
In this three hour workshop, we will explore the basic psychological factors you need to consider when winning others to support your sustainability project. In three steps, you will learn how to communicate your ideas in a way that others easily understand them and want to support you or want to become part of your team. In this workshop you will learn:
> What happens in the brain of others when you pitch your ideas to them.
> About factors hindering persuasive communication. This will help you to understand what to avoid when pitching your ideas to potential supporters.
> About factors fostering persuasive communication. You will also get the chance to actively try out those factors and apply them to your own pitch.
During the workshop, we will alternate between theoretical input and practical application of the theoretical knowledge. You will work in small groups of 2–3 students on the sustainable project (idea) of one of the group members. At the end of the workshop, we will have time to reflect and answer any remaining questions.
