The Fondazione Culture e musei and MUSEC of Lugano, in collaboration with the 29 ARTS IN PROGRESS gallery in Milan and theIstituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti of Venice, are promoting Unpublished Photo, a project aimed at identifying young talents of contemporary photography between 18 and 30 years old. 
Starting today 16 February, registration for the 2023 edition of the competition is open. The competition, born in 2018, attracts every year a growing number of young artists from all over the world.

The UP23 competition will award the first runner-up a monetary prize of CHF 2,000; the second runner-up receives CHF 1,500, while the third and fourth finalists each receive CHF 1,000.
A selection of the works of the UP23 finalists will be published in a photo booklet edit by FCM. The De Pietri Artphilein Foundation, a partner in the initiative, will produce and publish with Artphilein Editions, a valuable limited edition artist book entirely dedicated to the project of one of the finalists.
Once again this year, MUSEC will present the finalist’s works to the public, exhibiting them from 15 December 2023 to 18 February 2024 in Lugano at its Villa Malpensata venue.

How to participate
All photographers born between 1993 and 2005 can participate.
Applicants have to submit their portfolios, consisting of 10 images that must have stylistic and technical coherence on one chosen theme, a project description and a short biography, until the 16 April 2023. An online application form is available at the following link:
