We represent the interests of ZHdK students independently, critically and with commitment. Whether it's study conditions, political participation or cultural projects, VERSO is committed to high-quality education in the arts.

As the students' organisation, we want to achieve the best possible conditions for your studies. Our goal is to provide high-quality, forward-looking education in the arts. Among other things, we are committed to equal opportunities for all students and strive to make it easier to balance studies with work and family life. In addition, VERSO assists in the drafting of all legal documents relevant to students, such as study regulations and rules.

VERSO sees itself as a service for students, develops and supports projects in their interests, and is committed to promoting a dynamic student culture. In critical situations, we assist students in exercising their rights towards the university.

VERSO is part of VSS, the Swiss Student Union. The union represents the interests of students at universities of applied sciences, pedagogical universities, cantonal universities and federal technical universities at the federal level.

As the voice of students, the VSS represents the students’ interests and needs to the public and on the political level. To this end, we are in close contact with federal offices, maintain our network with civic and social organisations and have seats on all national university-related committees!

In the background, the student organization VERSO is supported by an association called "Verein Studierende der ZHdK (VSZHdK)". This association regulates the administration and financing of VERSO. The association exists so that we can collect membership fees and manage our funds independently. It is legally independent from the ZHdK and thus not subject to the authority of the ZHdK. The association VSZHdK is governed by statutes. These statutes outline the structures and responsibilities of the VSZHdK, including the purpose of the association, the bodies of the association, and the procedures for admission and withdrawal.
